CSK vs MI Highlights Mumbai Indians were almost choking on a chase as easy as 98, after being reduced to 33-4, but Tilak Varma with his 34* led his team to a five-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings. Varma added 48 for the fifth wicket alongside Hrithik Shokeen even as Mumbai were feeling a lot of pressure after two wickets fell in the same over at 33. Even though Shokeen eventually got out, Varma stayed unbeaten as Tim David finished the game with two huge sixes in the 15th over.
Earlier in the evening after being asked to bat first, Chennai Super Kings never got going as they lost Devon Conaway on what was a really poor umpiring decision on the second ball of the innings. Since then wickets kept falling even as MS Dhoni kept one end busy and it was only thanks to his 36* that Chennai could even get to 97 before Mukesh Choudhary was run out trying to get a single and Dhoni was left stranded at the other end.
CSK vs MI Player of the Match: Daniel Sams Aussie pacer Daniel Sams, who was lucky to get Devon Conway in the first over itself courtesy of an umpiring howler and subsequent unavailability of the DRS due to a Power cut, bowled well later on and got the wickets of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Moeen Ali, two very important batters fo the Men in Yellow. He eventually finished with figures of 3-16 in his four overs and was therefore adjudged Player of the match.
