The BJP would work towards retaining Gujarat and winning Himachal Pradesh from the Congress. The BJP is keen to win UP and Uttarakhand, and remain part of the ruling alliance in Punjab. Anupriya Patel or Rajbir Singh, the son of Kalyan Singh? Both names are being discussed as possible ministers in the next reshuffle. Anupriya Patel, the daughter of Sone Lal Patel and leader of Bharatiya Janata Party ally Apna Dal, was expelled from the party by her mother, Krishna Patel, over how it should be run. Rajbir Singh has had a bitter-sweet relationship with his father and confessed once that as a child he hardly got to see him. Once, when he did, his father forgot whether Rajbir was in Class VII or VIII.
A fight seems to have broken out in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over its Kairana campaign between member of Parliament from that constituency Hukum Singh and Sardhana Assembly member Sangeet Som. Both are members of the BJP. Som has been publicly warned by Singh to stay away from the Kairana campaign. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh administration has denied reports of any Hindu family fleeing Kairana in recent times allegedly due to harassment by Muslim crime rings in the area. Some Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders were somewhat inconvenienced during their stay in Allahabad for the party'stwo-day national executive meeting on June 12 and 13. They discovered that the city's paan (betel leaf) shops had decided not to sell the item during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stay in Allahabad. That, according to the association of paan shop owners, was their way of contributing to Modi's swachhata (cleanliness) campaign. However, the more resourceful of the BJP leaders found their poison by requesting supporters to get several of them packed from the outskirts of the city.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Sambit Patra said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had turned into the "Abusing and Accusing Party". Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's morning "begins with Modi, Modi, Modi; his afternoons are Modi, Modi, Modi and evenings are Modi, Modi, Modi", Patra alleged. He was reacting to Kejriwal's contention that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was to be blamed for President Pranab Mukherjee rejecting an amendment passed by the Delhi government that aimed to retrospectively exempt the appointment of 21 AAP MLAs as parliamentary secretaries. The BJP claimed Kejriwal was "politicising" what was essentially a "legal issue".

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is pointing at what it calls the Congress hypocrisy about its claims of protecting the interests of minorities. The BJP has either nominated or re-nominated two Muslim leaders - Minorities Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and party spokesperson M J Akbar - as its Rajya Sabha (RS) candidates from Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh, respectively. There is no Muslim on the Congress' list of RS candidates. BJP leaders were quick to add that both Akbar and Naqvi had been nominated on "merit". The BJP also said that its candidates had served the party for decades, while parties such as the Congress, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) had fielded lawyers: The RJD has fielded Ram Jethmalani from Bihar, the Congress is backing Vivek Tankha from Madhya Pradesh and the INLD is supporting lawyer R K Anand in Haryana. If the Shiv Sena can have "Shiv" vada-pav (an Indian snack) eateries across Mumbai, can the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), its partner in the ruling alliance at the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), be far behind? The party has decided to launch "Namo" (short for Narendra Modi) tea stalls across the city. Manoj Kotak, BJP group leader in the MCGM, claimed the concept had been discussed at a party meeting. Opposition parties, however, lashed out at the idea. "This move is another joomla (gimmick)," said former BJP member Pravin Chheda, now leader of the Opposition party, the Congress, in the MCGM.
