Over 34K people vaccinated in Delhi against coronavirus on Tuesday

Over 34,000 beneficiaries received shots of the COVID-19 vaccine in the national capital on Tuesday, including 17,368 senior citizens, as per official data. In the 45-59 years age group, 2,833 beneficiaries received the jabs, a senior official said. On Monday, 35,738 people were administered the vaccine, the highest so far since the start of the exercise on January 16, according to official data. On Tuesday, a total of 34,239 beneficiaries got the jabs, the senior official said. All 3rd round samples from Delhi zoo test negative for avian influenza

All samples of bird droppings collected from Delhi Zoo in the third round of serological surveillance have tested negative for Avian influenza virus, authorities said on Monday. According to the officials, the National Zoological Park (NZP) had sent these samples to the National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases (NIHSAD), Bhopal, for checking. "This is the second time when the serological surveillance results of NZP for Avian flu have come negative," an official said. Earlier six serological samples of National Zoological Park sent to NIHSAD, Bhopal, on January 19 were found negative for avian influenza virus. The fourth round of serological surveillance samples will be collected on March 4 by a team of Animal Husbandry (AH) Department of Delhi government and sent to NIHSAD. "NZP has been consistently following protocols and monitoring the health and hygiene of enclosures and wetland areas," the official said. Over 13K get Covid jabs; fall in number of beneficiaries on Friday in Delhi

Over 13,000 beneficiaries received anti-COVID-19 vaccine on Friday, a significant fall from the number of people who had got the shots a day before, according to data shared by officials. Over 3.6 lakh beneficiaries have received the vaccine till date in Delhi since the start of the inoculation drive a month ago, with more than 18,900 people receiving jabs on Thursday. Out of the total tally, more than 1.46 lakh are healthcare workers and over 2.2 lakh are frontline workers, as per the data. Covid-19 in Delhi: 200 new cases, highest daily count in February

Delhi recorded 200 fresh COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, the highest number of single-day incidences in February, even as the positivity rate rose to 0.36 per cent, as per data shared by officials. Two new deaths were also registered due to COVID-19, pushing the toll to 10,905. On all preceding days since February 1, the daily cases count has been recorded below 200. Alliance Air to commence flight services from Bilaspur to Delhi from March

Air India's regional subsidiary Alliance Air will commence its flight services from Bilaspur in Madhya Pradesh to Delhi, with the option of flying either via Jabalpur or Allahabad from March 1. The four-times-a-week services on the new route will be operated under the government's regional connectivity scheme, UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) and the airline has deployed its 70-seater ATR 72-600 aircraft, Alliance Air said in a release.
