Goa reports 126 new coronavirus cases, 134 recoveries in 24 hours

Goa on Thursday recorded 126 fresh cases of coronavirus that took its tally of infections to 1,69,341, an official from the state health department official said. At least 134 patients were discharged from hospitals, while one died of the infection during the day, taking the count of recoveries to 1,64,460 and the toll to 3,102, the official said. The coastal state is now left with 1,779 active cases, he said. With the addition of 4,063 swab samples tested during the day, the total number of tests conducted in the state has gone up to 9,88,300, the official added. Goa's COVID-19 figures are as follows: Positive cases 1,69,341, new cases 126, death toll 3102, discharged 164460, active cases 1779, samples tested till date 9,88,300.

Goa reports 164 new coronavirus cases, four deaths in the last 24 hours

Goa's coronavirus caseload went up by 164 to reach 1,67,436 on Sunday, while the death of four patients took its fatality count to 3,073, a health department official said. As 202 COVID-19 patients recuperated and got discharge from hospitals during the day, the state's recovery count rose to 1,62,276. There are 2,087 active infection cases in the coastal state at present, the official said. "A total of 4,609 tests were conducted on Sunday, which pushed Goa's overall test count to 9,38,454, he added. On Saturday, the state had reported 169 coronavirus positive cases and seven fatalities, while 207 patients had recovered. Goa's COVID-19 figures are as follows: Positive cases 1,67,436, new cases 164, death toll 3,073, discharged 1,62,276, active cases 2,087, samples tested till date 9,38,454.

Covid-19: Goa extends curfew till June 21, positivity rate stands at 14%

The coronavirus-induced curfew in Goa was on Sunday extended till June 21 as the positivity rate in the state stood at 14 per cent, an official said. The curfew was first imposed on May 9 and has been extended several times since then, as the state witnessed its positivity rate reaching a high of 51 per cent before dipping gradually to the level now, he added. While essential services are exempt from the curfew, casinos, bars, restaurants, shops, river cruises, schools, colleges, educational institutions etc will remain shut, and social, sports, cultural and academic functions would be prohibited. Marriage functions have an attendance cap of 50 and they can be held after permission is taken from the district magistrate or sub divisional magistrate, the official added.
