Tata Steel to invest Rs 3,000 cr in Jharkhand in next 3 yrs to inc capacity

Domestic steel giant Tata Steel on Saturday expressed commitment to invest Rs 3,000 crore in Jharkhand in the next three years to augment capacities. The commitment was made at the launch of Jharkhand Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy (JIIPP) 2021 here, launched by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The Jharkhand government aims to facilitate investment to the tune of Rs 1 lakh crore in the state and generate 5 lakh jobs through two days investors meeting that concluded on Saturday here. "Tata Steel plans to invest Rs 3,000 crore in the next three years in Jharkhand with expansion of capacities of coal and iron ore mines and downstream value added steel portfolio," Chanakya Choudhary, Vice President - Corporate Services, Tata Steel, told PTI. Supreme Court seeks report from Jharkhand govt in judge murder case

The Supreme Court Friday took suo motu cognizance of the unfortunate sad demise of a judge in gruesome incident of being allegedly mowed down by a vehicle while on morning jog on July 28 at Dhanbad and sought a status report within a week from Jharkhand's Chief Secretary and the DGP on probe, saying reports and video clippings suggested it was not a case of simplicitor road accident. This gruesome incident has been widely reported in newspapers, and video clippings of the incident are also being circulated on social media platforms, suggesting that it was not a case of simplicitor road accident, said a bench headed by Chief Justice N V Ramana said. Tata Steel's Jharia division commissions 2MTPA coal plant in Jharkhand

Tata Steel has set up a 2 million tonne per annum (MTPA) coal preparation plant at Jamadoba under its Jharia division, the steel giant said on Friday. Tata Steel's Jharia division has taken several initiatives of automation and digitalisation which has helped in improving operational excellence. "In line with its mechanisation and modernisation programme, Tata Steels Jharia division has commissioned the state-of-the-art 2 MTPA coal preparation plant and 400 kilovolt-ampere (kVA) Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) for Main Mechanical Ventilator at Jamadoba colliery," Tata Steel said in a statement. These facilities were inaugurated by D B Sundara Ramam, Vice President (Raw materials), Tata Steel in the presence of Sanjay Rajoria, General Manager, Jharia division. Built from cutting-edge technology, the 2 MTPA coal preparation plant has been transformed from the oldest running washery in Asia (in operation since 1952) to one of the most modern washeries across the globe.
