At a time when petrol prices are at a three-year high and protests are being staged across the country against it, Union Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan claimed on Saturday that prices have already started falling, and that the fall will would continue. Speaking to the media here at Ahmedabad, Pradhan said "Petrol prices have fallen by a few paise in the last two days... the prices will fall furhter.". Prices have fallen by 10 paise between September 21 to 23, as per the Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell, operated by the Oil Ministry. Pradhan also said that the recent hurricanes in the US have affected petrol and diesel prices in India.
