New Delhi, Jan 20 (ANI): With just few weeks left before commencement of Goa Assembly Elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) addressed a Press Conference in Delhi on January 20. On being asked why Utpal Parrikar, son of late former CM Manohar Parrikar, was not given ticket to contest election from Panaji, BJP Leader Devendra Fadnavis informed that the sitting MLA from Panaji has been given the ticket, and Utpal Parrikar is being given more options. "Sitting MLA has been given ticket from Panaji. Utpal Parrikar, former Goa CM Manohar Parrikar's son, and his family are our family. We gave two more options to him but he rejected first one, and the second option is being discussed with him," said BJP leader Fadnavis.

Chhattisgarh CM slams Yogi, says ‘people are extremely upset with his govt in UP’

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 19 (ANI): Ahead of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on January 19 slammed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath by saying people are “extremely upset” with his government in the state. “I went for door-to –door campaign in Noida, Jewar, Dadri and Mathura for three days. Goa Polls: Talks with Congress failed, NCP-Shiv Sena will fight together, says Praful Patel

Bambolim (Goa), Jan 19 (ANI): The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Praful Patel on January 19 announced alliance with Shiv Sena for the upcoming Goa Assembly Elections. The announcement was made by Patel in a joint Press Conference with Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut. Patel also mentioned that despite efforts to form alliance with the Congress, talks had failed and now they have decided to contest separately.“We made an offer to Congress to jointly contest Goa polls, but in vain. They neither said yes nor no. NCP and Shiv Sena will jointly fight Goa polls, not all 40 seats, but a substantial number,” said Patel.Patel also informed that the first final list of candidates will be released tomorrow, other lists will follow later.

AAP declares Amit Palekar as CM candidate for Goa Assembly Elections

Dona Paula (Goa), Jan 19 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) declared Amit Palekar as the party's chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming Goa Assembly Polls on January 19. While making the announcement, the party's National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that Amit Palekar is an advocate by profession and comes from the Bhandari community. Legislative Assembly Elections will be held in Goa on February 14, 2022 to elect 40 members of the Goa Legislative Assembly. The votes will be counted and the results will be declared on March 10, 2022.
